Lee Seung-bok Memorial Hall was established in November 1968 to commemorate the life of Lee Seung-bok who was murdered by armed communist guerrilla after shouting “I hate Communists.”

It is a place that contains the spirit of sacrifice of Lee Seung-bok and makes you look back on the cruelty of the ideology in the Cold War Era. Thirteen oil paintings recording the life of Lee Seung-bok, 106 pieces of equipment such as tanks, helicopters and combat aircraft and 33 articles left by him are exhibited.

It has not only exhibition halls but also a nature learning center, a folk materials exhibition, and a wildflower complex, providing a variety of attractions and experiences. In this place, models and statues reproducing his birthplace and the school where Lee Seung-bok attended attract visitors’ attention. It has a large green park outside and it is near Nodong Valley, Bangadari Mineral Spring and New Mineral Spring, making it a good place to take a walk. There are many tourist attractions such as Gyebangsan Mountain and Unduryeong Pass around the hall. So it is a place where a lot of families with children visit.
